The Infant Program at Souris Early Learning Programs
At the Souris Early Learning Program Infant Program we offer a positive exploring environment for children from 3 months to 2 years old.
We do many art activities with the children including, but not limited to placing paper on one of the walls and let the children color on them. We do ice cube painting... sometimes we cover the table with paper with paper and paint, and then let them finger paint the table.
The SELP is proud to embrace an emergent curriculum so our ideas are planned around the interests of the children. In a normal day we will take the babies for two walks that are a minimum of 30 minutes. We let the babies play outside with the older children in the afternoon.
We have started doing small "circle" activities with the infants including a song, a book and an activity. For example we will sing old MacDonald, read a book about animals like Brown Bear Brown Bear, and then conclude with a game like sleeping bunnies where they have to pretend to be a bunny. This is more so a come and go circle as the children are small and have so much to do! They are allowed to come and go as they please.
We always do things that interest them and keep their attention.
Each one of our infant staff is dedicated to the positive growth and development of every child at our program.
