We also visited the school library for our last visits this week. Each group enjoyed a story time at the library.
On Wednesday and Thursday the groups visited the Hillcrest Museum. We learned that the building is 100 years old, Fred was the man who built the house for his wife Maud who wanted to live in a castle. Their dog's names were Daum and Derf which is Maud and Fred spelled backward. We got to see many interesting old things such as a vacuum, coal burning stove, tools used by the dentist and doctor, an old telephone (similar to one owned by Bugs Bunny as we were informed). Also there was a beautiful piano and many MANY other things. The butterfly and stuffed bird collections as well as the train caboose were also a huge hit with the children. Many talked about visiting again to see these during the summer.
Reminder- MONDAY AND TUESDAY our classes will be held at the campground. Drop-off and pick-up will happen there. Please contact me with any questions or concerns. If you are able to join us, please do so! It will be a fun day of games and adventures.
