We were very fortunate this morning to have a visit from Sam's baby chickens. We learned lots of new things about chickens such as;
- Some chickens can lay blue eggs, brown eggs, and PINK eggs- instead of the typical white we see in the store. All the colored eggs taste similar to a white egg and are just as healthy.
- Chicken poop is great for composting and using to help in the garden.
- Once the chickens are older they will begin to eat vegetable scraps such as carrot peels.
Some of us were brave enough to feel the soft feathers these baby chickens have, others were unsure about the quick moving little chicks. After a very thorough hand washing session we returned to the classroom to
