Last week we finally got a chance to visit the Hydro Station in Souris. Due to cold weather, wind-chill, schedule conflicts and busy hydro plans our trip was rescheduled four times this year. The morning classes had a chilly visit to see the truck and shop. We learned about safety around electricity and what to do if our ball goes near a hydro station. We watched Dean climb the hydro pole with his boot spurs. Some of us attempted to hold onto his very heavy tool belt. One child nearly tipped right over! Some of us decided it would be fun to be a lineman and help others with their electricity. The rest of us will just continue to enjoy the luxuries electricity brings us.
