It has been a pleasure meeting you and your children over the past week. I look forward to seeing you again soon. Our first two days of Nursery School went very well. I enjoyed myself and the children seemed to get along well and talked happily about coming back again.
Each class has some time for free-play when they arrived, then had a small group chat about the classroom rules and activities. The children and I sat down together to enjoy our snacks then we read the story "The Kissing Hand" by Audrey Penn. "The Kissing Hand" is about a small raccoon who is afraid about going to school. His mother shares a special secret with him and kisses his palm so he will always have a part of her with him. The children then worked diligently on creating artwork of a hand and a kiss.
We learned about the letter 'a' and the character from Letterland named Annie Apple. She has a little song which we sang together. We will learn more about the letter 'a' in our next class.
Next class we will also read the story "We Share Everything" by Robert Munsch.
