Over the past week we talked about Thanksgiving and what each child did over the long weekend. We read the Berenstain Bears book "Giving Thanks" and discussed foods we enjoy at this time of year. I told the children about harvest time and how farmers are busy getting crops off the fields to make food. The children seemed to know more than me about the farming equipment used in the process!
Each class practiced writing their name in their name book. Please ask Miss Frieze if you would like to see your child's progress in the book so far.
We talked about the letter D and Dippy Duck. The children enjoyed watching the short dippy duck video I found on youtube (attached below). Then we pretended we were swimming in Dippy Duck's duckpond and dipping our feet in the water.
Next week we will keep our alphabet focus on the letters A, B, C, and D until November when we will go on to the letter E. The children enjoy singing the Letterland songs and making up their own stories using the characters.
The Nursery School newsletter will be distributed next week. Please check it for information on upcoming activities such as the field trips and Halloween parties.
Have a great weekend.
