~ Week 1, here and gone ~
Welcome everyone to the wonderful 2012-2013 Nursery School year!! I thought that nobody could have been as excited as I was, but I was sure wrong. The children arrived with smiles and hugs on Monday and Tuesday, Moms and Dads too!
I am thrilled to have such full, exciting classes this year. Did you know that we added an extra class to accommodate the number of children who registered this year!?! AMAZING!!
We started the week by spending lots of time playing with one another and getting to know who we are, why we are here and what we will be doing. The Lego and dinosaurs were a huge hit in the classroom along with Pop-up Pirate and of course the housekeeping area. Everyone finished off the week by venturing out into the school for a COOL SCHOOL TOUR! We visited Mr.Williams and Mrs.Rolfe- the principals (they help all the kids in the school), we peeked in the gym (the only place in the school we are allowed to RUN), spoke with the secretaries, with with Ms.Kontzie the librarian and visited Mrs.McLeod's room to see her aquarium of fish! Also, everyone got to have a sip from the new water fountain- this was very exciting for us!!
It took us the week to get into a thorough routine, and I look forward to seeing everyone again next week when we will begin learning about Annie Apple, start a self-awareness project, welcome a guest reader and have our first official Library visit.
Have you received and reviewed your monthly activity calendar? Please let me know if you have any questions. Reminder: There are NO NURSERY SCHOOL CLASSES on Monday, September 17th. The make-up class day for this will be Friday, September 21st.
On Saturday, September 29th 2012 we will be hosting our annual pie sale at the Day Care from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. If you are able to donate 2 or more pies they would be greatly appreciated. We then sell the pies to the public and the funds are using to enhance programming at all the Day Care programs we offer including Infant, pre-school, Nursery School and School-age.
Thank you for choosing Souris Cooperative Day Care Center Inc. for your child's Nursery School experience.
Sincerely,
Miss Melony Frieze
