We put on our scientist smocks this week at Nursery school and mixed some lovely potions.
It is amazing how many questions can be asked when baking soda and vinegar are combined in different ways. The children were very curious why the two substances bubbled and fizzed when they were combined. From this exploration, they asked "what would happen if we added sugar?" so we did! We saw that the sugar separated in one mixture, and when we added sugar to straight vinegar it took longer for it to dissolve than when we added it to plain water. So many questions for inquisitive little learners!!!
